The Baja Fish Taco is the clearest expression of our tagline: Baja inspired, Carlsbad made. It takes the coastal street-stand taco Baja California is famous for and serves it on a corn tortilla handmade in our own kitchen.
What's in it
Each taco starts with seasonal white fish dipped in beer batter and fried until the crust is golden and crackly. Then come the toppings:
- Cilantro slaw for crunch and a clean, herbal bite
- Crema to cool everything down
- Salsa fresca for brightness and acidity
The Baja Fish Taco is $7.99. Because the fish is seasonal, the variety changes through the year, so ask your server what's in today.
Other ways to get your fish fix
Prefer it straight off the grill? The Grilled Fish Taco ($6.99) swaps the batter for char-grilled seasonal white fish with jalapeño slaw, sliced avocado and habanero jam. Shrimp fans can get the full Baja treatment in the Baja Shrimp Taco ($7.99): beer-battered shrimp with the same cilantro slaw, crema and salsa fresca. Our guide to Baja fish tacos in Carlsbad compares every option.
Make it a meal
Order two or three tacos and put an order of Esquite in the middle of the table; its charred corn, Tajín and Cotija play well with the crisp fish. A cold Pacifico or a Casero Margarita keeps every bite tasting bright. Ready to eat? Order online for pickup or grab a patio table in Bressi Ranch.
